Heart for summer sunset - BOTB15

This is my entry for the BOTB15 (world wild competition Battle of the Beadsmith)
My Inspiration for this necklace were the warm colors of the summertime especially the colors of the beauty summer sunsets. And the hearts are perfect for saying I'm in love with life, with summer and with Nature and its beauties!

I used mainly Size 15 and 11 Miyuki Seed Beads and Delica. I used also 3 little orange seashell (in Italy we call them St Lucy's eyes), 3mm and 6mm jade fire polished faceted round beads.
The focal red heart is one of my ceramic pendent (I painted it like a lace).

Dimensions: 13 in (33 cm) in length by 8.3in (21 cm) in width

Time to complete: 2 months

Special Delivery - The 6th Bead Soup Blog Party

One week ago, the postman brought me a special delivery...when I open the package it was full of beautiful polymer clay beads and cabochon made by my Katja Benevol Gabrijelčič, my pretty partner in the  6th Bead Soup Blog Party.

She sent me not one, not 2 but 3 fantastic Beads Soup kits!

Natural Seashell Tangerine Tango Bead Embroidered Pendant Necklace - EBWC

I created this pendent for the July Etsy Beadweavers Team Challenge. The theme of this challenge is "Tangerine Tango", the new pantone color of the year. The idea of this theme is that the completed piece should have a predominance of that color.

This necklace features a beautiful orange seashell in the center of the pendent.
The challenge theme provided the perfect opportunity to use it. The rest of the pendent was embroidered with a variety of cylinder and seed beads in the shades of tangerine tango.Pendant is backed with gray ultra suede and measures 5cm long and 4 cm wide. It hangs on a 60 cm of orange cotton cord and close with a beautiful metal toggle clasp.

 Gli opercoli sono le "porte" delle conchiglie, con le quali il mollusco all'interno può chiudersi dentro in periodi di forte siccità o per difendersi da eventuali predatori.

La mia amica Laura è riuscita a trovarne un pò durante l'estate al mare ... me li ha portati ... 

...io li ho incastonati per far di questo regalo di Madre Natura uno splendido paio di orecchini!
